Betty,

I am sorry for this delayed reply to your gardening question. The spring rush has brought a deluge of questions and we are working hard to catch up!

Your County Extension Office will usually have a free pecan spray schedule that covers the various pests and various products and spray times for the pests and diseases that attack pecans. Fertilize your pecan with lawn fertilizer at a rate of 2 cups per inch of trunk diameter in spring. Spread the fertilizer evenly beneath the entire branch spread.

Thanks for the question. Best wishes for a wonderful gardening season. Please stop in again soon!
