As opposed to fence, I'm looking to plant some trees along my property line...only thing there are some power lines preventing me from anything that gets too tall all around the perimeter. What kind of tree would work? I would like to avoid evergreens if at all possible. Any suggestions?

Most trees grow within a general range of heights, with even so-called small trees often topping that 25 foot mark. So to meet all of the criteria, you might want to take a look at some of the newer crabapple varieties with good disease resistance. They are strong wooded, tolerant of difficult growing situations, prefer full sun, and are finely ornamental with lovely flowers. Named varieties grow to fairly specific heights -- with a good selection to chose from being under 25 feet at maturity. Your local nursery should have a good selection, particularly in the spring. Your local nursery and/or county extension may also have additional suggestions.
