Your new magnolia will grow in either full sun or part sun/part shade. The ideal soil for most magnolias is rich, porous, acidic (pH 5.0 to 6.5) and well-drained. The soil should be amended with leaf mold at planting to help the roots establish quickly. Be sure to plant at the same soil level as it was growing in the nursery pot and water deeply once each week to help it settle into its new home.

Enjoy!
