I have a corner of my driveway that never has any direct sun. The area is right by the front door and a window looking into the kitchen so something that is flowering and fragrant would be an most enjoyable. Is there such a plant? |
That's a pretty tall order! Flowering plants generally need a little direct sunlight during the day. Pieris will probably grow there, but it's a shrub, not a vine. You can shape it by pruning so it will fit in the area. It flowers, but isn't overwhelmingly fragrant. Star Jasmine is another possiblility. If it flowers, it will be wonderfully fragrant. Cape Honeysuckle tolerates more shade than most, so perhaps it will fill the bill for you. You may just have to try one or two of these plants. If they don't flourish in the spot, move them elsewhere and try another. Good luck! |
