Alberta Spruce - Knowledgebase Question

My 2 7ft.alberta spruces are green on the outside but when the branches are spread apart everthing is very brown and dry.bAre these trees dying? Thanks Anne

Based on your description I am not certain if what you are seeing is normal or if there is a problem. Generally the interior will be more sparse than the outer layer of the tree, but if the only green is the new growth for this year then there is possibly a problem. I would suggest you consult with your local Rutgers county extension. If there is a problem such as a pest or disease, they should be able to diagnose it and based on knowing that, recommend how to proceed. I'm sorry I can't be more specific for you long distance.
