How do I kill & remove my palm tree? The tree is about 20 years old. I'm not sure what variety of palm tree it is. It's growing beyond the top of a 2-story building. It is growing from a corner of a small concrete patio, up against a cement building/wall that is also 2 stories tall. The fronds are from ground up, about 2 feet wide with long hard needles growing from ground to top of tree. The only real access to tree is from the small patio. Hubby wants to save money and do it himself but doesn't know how. Tree continues to grow & shows no sign of illness. Please help!! Thank you.

As much as you'd like to save money, I think this is a job for a licensed arborist. Tree removal can be dangerous, even for the experts. There really is no simple way; the fronds or branches will need to be removed, then the tree will be topped and removed in sections. Ask for several estimates and go for the best.

Good luck with your landscape.
