Iam planning a small garden in front of my house. during April to Oct there is not much direct sun on the area, but during Oct to Mar they will be direct sun light. I visit my home depot here which they had some nice small plant, also some plant to cover the grond. I also was checking out a sprinker system, that would let out small amount of water. please i just need an idea. P.S it's for my mom who is returning back to islands from the states. I apologize for the delay in answering your question.

I'm not sure what type of plant you're looking for. Your local Home Depot will cary a supply of plants appropriate for your climate; plant labels will tell you if the plant is for sun or shade. For summer color in the shade, for example, you can't beat impatiens. Begonias and torenia are other options.

As far as a watering system, the best is a soaker hose which delivers water slowly right to the soil. It's much more efficient and better for your plants than an overhead sprinkler.

I hope this helps.
