Hybrid anemone can refer to windflower, or to a white flowering clematis. If you're growing windflower, no pruning is necessary; if you're growing anemone flowered clematis, it blooms in the spring and generally does not need pruning. If you need to cut the plant back a bit to reduce its size, prune lightly immediately after it blooms.
