| I'm confused between medium bark and garden and screen comp mulch. I'm not planting around the perimeter of the house and I'd like to put either bark or mulch. The landscaper put screen comp mulch (with manure) around our fence and house area. Is that ok, I'm afraid of termites and the manure in there. |
| I wouldn't worry too much about termites. Termites like cool, dark places. As the mulch material decomposes it will warm up. And, if you rake it periodically, you'll discourage pests. The medium sized bark will last longer in your landscape so it won't need to be replaced quite as often as smaller bark chips or screened mulch material. I'd go with the largest bark nuggets or chips you can get, expecting it to last a long time in the yard. |
