The Q&A Archives: Should sap be coming out of Cider gum tree?

Question: Hi,
Help!!! We have sap coming out of our cider gum tree. It is coming out of the lower portion of the stalk and the ants were loving it. Do we have a problem or is this normal. I can't find any info on this. Thank You for your help

Answer: I'm sorry, but I'm not familiar with that tree, so I'm going to recommend that you contact your University of Arizona County Cooperative Extension office in Kingman. Their Master Gardeners or Horticulture Agent will be familiar with such local issues and can help you diagnose the problem. Good luck!
