For a hot sunny spot, marigolds would be a good choice, and Starbright zinnias, along with geraniums, Kenilworth ivy, and vinca. You'll find lots of other choices at your local garden center. If you choose both upright and trailing plants, your windowboxes will look terrific all summer long. For more pointers on growing plants in containers such as window boxes, you might wish to look at "Container Gardening For Dummies" by Bill Marken, ISBN 0-7645-5057-8.
