I planted althea 3 weeks ago and they still are not showing any sign of blooming. They are not dead because I scraped the bark and it is green inside. They didn't have alot of root. Shouldn't they be blooming? The bark is healthy and there is nodes on the bark. Is there anything I can give them to make them start to bloom or are they late bloomers. |
Any time a plant is installed in a landscape, it will need some time to adjust to its new home and to establish its root system. It's important that the roots become well established so you won't want to do anything that would increase top growth at this time. Water your new shrubs and give them a chance to adjust. They'll grow and bloom as soon as they're ready. When you see new growth begin you can lightly feed your new shrubs to encourage additional new growth and flowers. Your patience will be rewarded with healthy plants. Best wishes with your new shrubs! |
