I'd like to dig up a rose bush and send it to a friend via fedex. Will it survive? Tips?
Thanks!

The best time to dig and transport roses is in the winter when they are dormant. Since it's too late for that, you can still dig the rose, prune the top down by one-third, hose the soil off the roots, wrap the roots in dampened packing material (such as shredded paper) and set the entire plant in a waterproofed box. Don't wrap the plant or the roots in plastic or you'll suffocate it. Overnite express will get it there within 24 hours. Have your friend plant the rose the minute it arrives.

Best wishes with your project!
