I'm new in gardening, and moved in to a new house that doesn't have a sprinkler system. What do you reccomend me to buy and install by myself this system? As I saw here, I shold use the sprinkler only to the lawn, and on my vegetables, I'm planning towater it manually. How does it sound? I would like to have reccomendations in what to buy for my sprinkler system at Home Depot, so if you can tell me specifically what I need, I would appreciate it. Thank you for your help, Claudia

In your area, it is not usually necessary to water except possibly during dry spells during the months of July and August. The system will require shut down procedures each fall, including having air blown through it, to prevent winter damage. I mention this because it may affect your decision on whether or not to install a permanent in ground sprinkler system.

For a vegetable garden, a drip irrigation system usually works best because it delivers the water efficiently and does not wet the plants when you water.

Unfortunately I am not able to recommend specific brand. Please check with your local store and see what they have in stock, then carefully read the manufacturer's instructions on installation and system design.

Enjoy your new home and landscape!
