The Q&A Archives: Lawn

Question: I can't get grass to grow at all in several places in my yard. I really don't know what to use of do to solve this problem. Was hoping you could help me. Please. Thank you Deborah

Answer: There's no simple solution to getting grass to grow in problem areas. You'll have to determine whether there's too much shade, compacted soil or too much water in the area. You may have to renovate the soil (or eliminate the shade) in order to get grass to grow. You might even want to consider planting a groundcover rather than a lawn. Wish I had a better solution!
