The Q&A Archives: Wood Ash

Question: Is wood ash useful as a topical application on my garden. Is this beneficial?

Answer: Wood ash is a source of potash, but you should limit the amount that you apply to soil or it will change the ph (possibly enough to create imbalances). Don't apply more than 25 pounds to 1,000 square feet about every 3 years.
