The Q&A Archives: Grubs

Question: When do I treat for grubs? I have been seeing them in my flower beds when I dig to put in flowers.

Answer: Grubs can be treated with beneficial nematodes or with chemical controls. Japanese beetle grubs can also be treated with milky spore disease. In some cases a grub population is not really high enough to need control. You might want to consult with your county extension to help indentify the specific grubs you have and for specific recommendations on how to control them.
