Hello, I just bought a August Beauty Gardenia about two weeks ago, from you guys (home depot) and I pick out the one that already has 2 bulbs that is about to bloom. once I got it home I plant it in a plastic container (a well drain container) and fill it up with Miracle-Gro garden soil. After a week later or so the bulbs die, it turn kinda light brown color and is crispy. What Do I need to do now? I went back to home depot and saw them they have the gardenia outside (cloudy day). What should I do to keep my gardenia alive and have many bulbs and flowers? Thank you |
Cindy, I am sorry for this delayed reply to your gardening question. The spring rush has brought a deluge of questions and we are working hard to catch up! Gardenia needs some morning sun but not necessarily all day sun. Afternoon shade is good too. If the blooms died it may be due to flower diseases which love rainy weather. Avoid wetting the flowers and foliage when you water after the plant is established well it should bloom again and be fine. Thanks for the question. Best wishes for a wonderful gardening season. Please stop in again soon! |
