I am planning to replace a small area of lawn with blue star creeper. I didn't see the seed in any seed catalogs and I hate to go to the expense of buying it in flats at the local nursery.

Blue Star Creeper, a member of the Campanulaceae family, is a perennial ground cover that does not set seeds, but is propagated by division. If you purchase a flat of plants and space them 6 -12 inches apart, they should fill in within a year. You can divide plants again next spring and have enough plant material to cover your entire area in a few short years.
