I have 2 hibiscus shrubs and I noticed that the leaves have dark blak spots on them and the new leaves are very light green, almost white. The trunk is almost bare and no flowers. Is this some deseas? If so, what can I use to get rid of it? Thank you

Gabriella,

I am sorry for this delayed reply to your gardening question. The spring rush has brought a deluge of questions and we are working hard to catch up!

It may be due to damage from a weed killer used around the plant or on the lawn nearby. It may also be due to soggy soil conditions (poor drainage). Watch the soil moisture to keep moist but not soggy. Weed killer recovery will just take time. In the meantime fertilize lightly with Miracle Gro or a similar product.

Thanks for the question. Best wishes for a wonderful gardening season. Please stop in again soon!
