I have followed the instructions on the HD info tag for planting a 5 gal. Maple tree. When do I apply the Quick Start? When do I add the tree spikes? What does well watered mean? Thank you. |
Andy, I am sorry for this delayed reply to your gardening question. The spring rush has brought a deluge of questions and we are working hard to catch up! Well watered means moist but not soggy for extended periods. This can be tricky in the heat of summer. Just remember the roots will be pretty confined for several months so water primarily the area of the original root ball and just beyond that. Add the Quick Start now and the fertilizer spikes too. Place them a foot out from the original root ball you planted. Thanks for the question. Best wishes for a wonderful gardening season. Please stop in again soon! |
