| Photinia can be pruned selectively (thinned) to remove some of the longest branches by cutting them off deep inside the bush, or it can be sheared (lightly trimmed all over) for a more formal look. The red tips are enhanced by early spring pruning, but you can prune photinia any time from spring through summer. |
