I would like to start a vegeble garden, but the only place is surrounded on 2 sides by a 6 ft wood fence, and 1 side by evergreens. Will this be too cold and shady? |
Vegetable crops, for the most part, need 8-10 hours of direct sunshine to develop fruits like tomatoes and squash. If your garden site is shady, think about growing crops that don't flower and produce fruits - like lettuce, radishes, cabbage, carrotsand broccoli. Peas and beans will grow well for you in that type of site, too. Just experiment a little and you'll discover which crops grow best for you. |
