what is the best way to keep your tomatoes up and off the ground |
Slayton, I am sorry for this delayed reply to your gardening question. The spring rush has brought a deluge of questions and we are working hard to catch up! I like to use cages made of concrete reinforcing wire mesh. A 5 foot section rolled into a tube makes about the right sized cage. You can also use cattle panels leaned against metal posts with the panel's base about 18" from the base of the posts. Then as the tomatoes grow reorient the shoots through the panels periodically to create a wall of foliage. Thanks for the question. Best wishes for a wonderful gardening season. Please stop in again soon! |
