My Dad gave me a Desert Ash, and I'm not sure when to put it in the ground or to top it out so it will branch. Can you help? |
Donna, I am sorry for this delayed reply to your gardening question. The spring rush has brought a deluge of questions and we are working hard to catch up! You can plant it now. Just take care to keep the root ball and surrounding soil moist but not too soggy wet. You can prune the top at about 7 feet but it will probably branch fine on its own starting next year.
