What tree would you suggest for small patio area? I need(colorful)tree with small trunk, and little roots...for mostly sunny area.

The selection would depend on what size tree you really need. There are some small maturing crabapple trees in the 15-20 foot range, for example. If you need something closer to ten feet then you might consider a lilac or PeeGee hydrangea or other large shrub. Your local county extension may also have some suggestions based on a more detailed understanding of your planting site and your overall design goals. Enjoy your tree!
