I live on a military base so the backyard is not really mine. I have been looking into using containers. I am also thinking of bulding a raised bed. Is there a such thing as a temporay one will I just be able to break it down when it comes time for us to move.

When you make a raised bed you can use simple materials such as cinder blocks or boards for the sides so it is very easy to remove. The grass beneath it will be dead, so you would possibly need to reseed it after removing the raised bed. The potentially bigger problem is then you will also have to remove the soil that is in the bed. I hope this helps you evaluate your options.
