The Q&A Archives: Calla Lililes & Liliums

Question: I am a beginner gardener and dont have much knowledge about gardening but I planted 4 bulbs of Calla Lilies about 3 weeks ago but have only seen 1 small sprout of growth out of the 4. How long does it usually take for the lilies to start to grow?

Answer: Calla lilies are dependent upon weather and will begin to sprout as soon as the weather is favorable. I'd give the plants another 2 weeks to respond. If they still are not sprouting, it may be that they are planted too deeply. If this is the case, dig and replant them a little higher in the planting hole.

Best wishes with your beautiful new plants!
