Is there something I can do to help my new tree grow faster? THANKS! |
The best thing you can do for your new tree is to make sure it is watered correctly. This is important for getting the tree to root and become established so it can grow its best. The soil should be kept evenly moist like a wrung out sponge, not sopping wet and not dried out. To know if you need to water, dig into the soil with your finger. If it is still damp, do not water yet. When you do water, apply it slowly and thoroughly so it soaks down to the deepest roots. After watering, wait a few hour and then dig down to see how far the water went; sometimes, it is surprising. Also, keep the tree mulched with organic mulch. It should be about two to three inches thick in a flat layer over the root area. Do not allow it to touch the trunk of the tree. Fluff it and replenish when needed. The organic mulch rots down over time and helps feed the soil on an ongoing basis. Enjoy your new tree! |
