When should I plant blackberries and will they produce the same year they are planted? Do I need two varieties for cross-pollination? |
In your climate, you can plant blackberries in late winter -- early spring at the latest. Blackberries do not need a second variety for a pollinator so you only need to plant one variety. The berries are produced on side shoots that grow the second year,so you will not get any fruit until next summer. |
