If your rows run east and west, your plants will benefit from the exposure to the sun. Be sure to plant the shortest plants in the southern most rows and the tallest plants behind them. Planting this way will make the most of your slope, too, for water can be applied from the east side and will naturally flow down hill. You can run your rows on the diagonal, if you prefer, just put the tallest plants in the back and the shortest in the front.
