Do cucumbers need mesh fencing to wrap their tentacles around? If so ,how much do I use for 1 plant, and where do I put the mesh fencing?

If you want to grow your cucumbers up a trellis or mesh fencing, you'll need to place the supporting structure about a foot away from the plant and then train the vines to grow up by gently wrapping one or two twist ties on the main vines to guide it upward. As the stems grow they will produce little tendrils which will grow around the support you've provided. All you need to do is gently guide the plant to make it climb onto the support. After that, it will automatically cling. Best wishes with your cukes!
