I know how to choose the plants, annuals and periannuals that I want, I need to know how to prepare the area from scratch. Right now, I have a backyard full of grass. HELP! |
Lori, I am sorry for this delayed reply to your gardening question. The spring rush has brought a deluge of questions and we are working hard to catch up! Start by killing the grass using a product with glyphosate in it. Give it a week to work and then rototill the area. Next add a couple of inches of compost to the bed areas and rototill deeply again. This should help get it ready for planting flowers. Thanks for the question. Best wishes for a wonderful gardening season. Please stop in again soon! |
