The Q&A Archives: rhododendron loosing leaves

Question: i have 2 2.5 year old plants on my front door sep in large pots. both plants are in bllom. the larger of the two is loosing leaves, and parts of the plant is going limp. what should i do?

Answer: Charles,

I am sorry for this delayed reply to your gardening question. The spring rush has brought a deluge of questions and we are working hard to catch up!

The soil is either too dry or too wet. Soggy soil can kill roots just as dry soil can. Make sure to keep the soil moist but not saturated. Check the drainage holes in the container to make sure they are not plugged.

Thanks for the question. Best wishes for a wonderful gardening season. Please stop in again soon!
