Where do you plant azaleas for the best growth? I have one on the side of my house that is in shade and receives afternnon sun, but is not doing well.

Most azaleas grow best in full shade or morning sun and afternoon shade. If yours is getting afternoon sun, it won't be very happy. Try to find a spot sheltered from afternoon sun. Before replanting, amend the new site with some peat moss (azaleas love acidic soil). Simply spread 3-4" of peat over the planting area and dig it in to a depth of 8-10 inches. Then replant your azalea and water it well to help settle the soil. I think you'll see a big change in a short time.

Best wishes with your garden!
