Star jasmine or Confederate jasmine (Trachelospermum jasminoides) is not winter hardy in zone 6 so you will need to keep it as a container plant and bring it indoors in the fall if you wish to keep it from year to year. Provide it with bright light, water as needed to keep the soil slightly moist, and fertilize every other week from spring to fall with a water soluble fertilizer with an analysis of 10-10-10 plus minors or similar. Follow the label directions for how much to use. Provide it with a trellis to climb, and pinch out the new growth tips occasionally to keep it dense and bushy. Enjoy your star jasmine!
