We put a hydrangea in an area that apparently gets too much sun. It is shaded all day except for the afternoon hours. During the day it slumps over and look horrible but by the morning time it has perked right back up and looks amazing. Is it probably not going to survive? Would it be best to try and move it? Will it survive in the full shade even though there will be days in the summer that will be 100+ degrees? |
What you describe is perfectly normal for hydrangeas. They recover overnight, but during the day they look really pathetic when the hot sun beats down on them. It would appreciate a site where it gets a few hours of morning sun and then shade from noon on. If you plant it in full shade, it may not bloom for you so try finding a spot with at least 3 hours of morning sun. Best wishes with your garden! |
