Are there any plants that i can put around my deck to help keep the mosquito and gnats away?

Unfortunately there are no plants that are reliable bug repellents when planted in the yard. The best means of reducing the number of mosquitoes is to survey the area and eliminate any sources of standing water or mud where they might breed. This can mean water in clogged gutters or abandoned wading pools, water caught in tarps covering firewood or in saucers beneath container plants, water in neglected birdbaths, and so on. Your local county extension may also have suggestions on mosquito control measures you could take. I'm sorry I can't be more encouraging about the plants.
