I have a small patio and would like to put two planters there, the area is about 15 x24 inches for each pot and they can grow 4-6 feet tall. what do you suggest?

You might try the fig tree, Ficus benjamina, or possibly a tall topiary made of English ivy growing on a frame. Both of these would do well on a shady patio and would need to be brought indoors in the fall if you want to keep it from year to year. On a sunny patio you might try an annual flowering vine such as morning glories grown from seed. On a short trellis it will cascade back downward. I hope this gives you some ideas.
