Most seeds are planted around the last frost date for your area. Some seeds such as melons and squash are planted a week or two after the last frost because the plants do not tolerate cold temperatures or cold soil. You can still plant your main season vegetables and most flowers. A few plants such as spinach, garden peas, and ornamental sweet pea flowers prefer to grow in cooler weather and are better planted before the last frost so it is a bit late for those.
