Are there any shrubs with color that grow in the shade?

Some flowering shrubs for shade include azalea and rhododendron along with thefragrant summersweet (Clethra alnifolia) and the white flowered Hydrangea arborescens. You can also find shrubs with variegated foliage such as the twig dogwoods (Cornus alba "Elegantissima" for example) to brighten up shady areas. I hope this gives you some ideas.
