About a month ago, we bought a Jane Magnolia tree. It was about a foot tall, it had a few blossoms on it. of course, the blossoms have fallen off a couple of weeks ago and it still hasn't pushed out any leaves yet. it has a few velvety, kindof green, buds that are very small, but that's it. We had bought one a week or two earlier and it's had leaves on it for several weeks. is there anything to be concerned about or is it just a later bloomer.
Thanks for your quick response.

If the buds are still supple and plump, then they should leaf out. Keep the soil evenly moist like a wrung out sponge, not dried out and not sopping wet/saturated. Using an organic mulch about three inches thick over the root area (do not allow it to touch the trunk) will help to keep the soil naturally moist.
