My grass is covered with mushrooms. What should I do? |
The mushrooms you see are not damaging your lawn so it is not a serious problem in that sense. Mushrooms are the fruiting bodies of a fungus that is feeding on some sort of organic matter that is in the process of decay underground, combined with favorable weather conditions. They could be due to wood chips having been added to the soil as an amendment or to an old tree root rotting, for instance. Once that source is depleted, the mushrooms will disappear on their own. In the meantime, you can rake them off and dispose of them if you wish. |
