I have chipmunks and squirrels digging up my bulbs-my hyacinth bulb was the first fatality and now I'm trying to save my calla lily bulbs. What is THE best way to keep the chipmunks and squirrels away from them? I saw the post about wire mesh and repellents. Which repellents are the best?

Many gardeners report it helps to rotate between the different brands so they don't become accustomed to one. Your neighbors may have tried some and could tell you waht seems to work best with your local critters. Some people report success dipping the bulbs in Ropel prior to planting, but I have not tried that personally. Here is some additional information you may find helpful, too.

Good luck with your bulbs this summer!
