Unfortunately, based on your description I am not certain what has happened to your rhododendrons. Several different causes can contribute to wilting and dieback. These plants can suffer winter cold damage, they can suffer root damage if planted in a poorly drained location, and they can suffer from diseases as well. I would suggest you work with your local county extension to determine what has happened to your plants and based on knowing that, decide how to proceed. I'm sorry you are having trouble with them.
