The Q&A Archives: Water Retaining

Question: I live where water stay in a sort of box what can I do a about it

Answer: Veloria,

I am sorry for this delayed reply to your gardening question. The spring rush has brought a deluge of questions and we are working hard to catch up!

If your plants are in a container you need to make sure that the bottom of the container has drainage holes to let the excess water get out. If the area you are talking about is the ground then you can bring in soil and compost to raise the planting area so plant roots don't drown during wet times.

Thanks for the question. Best wishes for a wonderful gardening season. Please stop in again soon!
