I have planted glow willows and noticed that the next day the leaves look pale and dry. Will my tree die or what do I need to do?

Silv,

I am sorry for this delayed reply to your gardening question. The spring rush has brought a deluge of questions and we are working hard to catch up!

Your willow tree is suffering from transplant shock. When roots are damaged or dry out during of following the planting process this can happen. When planting water the container before removing the plant. Then firm the soil around the root ball in the planting hole. Water the planting hole 2 or 3 times as you are filling with soil to settle the soil and remove air pockets. Then build a raised berm of soil around the plant about 3' in diameter to help you water it thoroughly when you do water it.

Thanks for the question. Best wishes for a wonderful gardening season. Please stop in again soon!
