I would like to have a garden full of color and fragrance. I love the way the spirea looks and think I would like to have it in my garden but I have limited space and fragrance is a main objective for me. Can you tell me please if sperea is fragrant or if there are some that are and others that aren't. And, is there an heirloom variety and is that one fragrant? thank you so much for your time. Spiraea alba (American White Spirea) This 3-4' shrub is called 'Meadowsweet' because of the pleasant fragrance of its mid-summer flowers and its habit of growing in moist sunny spots--like old meadows.

Spiraea nipponica 'Snowmound' is said to have both fragrant flowers and fragrant leaves.

Hope this information is helpful in planning your fragrance garden!
