what plants can i get that i dont have to replant every year ?

You could plant a selection of perennials. Look for plants considered winter hardy into USDA winter hardiness zone 6 or colder (your zip code places you in zone 6). Some good perennials for beginners could include daylilies (Hemerocallis), Coreopsis, Echinacea purpurea and Sedums for sunny spots, and assorted hostas and ferns for shady spots.
