| Hibiscus will take all manner of pruning - even by deer, so it should resprout within a few weeks. Replacing it is an option, but with a deer population around a new plant may suffer the same fate. In fact, you might want to temporarily protect your hibiscus from further feeding by covering it with bird netting or surrounding it with chicken wire until it grows large enough to fend for itself. Then if the deer prune it again, it will be large enough to endure the nibbling. Best wishes with your hibiscus! |
